step down converter
« on: February 07, 2010, 04:28:06 PM »
Can anyone tell me where to buy a step down converter in Georgetown?  I need to change from 230v to 110v with at least a 500w capacity.

Thanks

Hi Koko...

I saw some nice handy ones at Best in Gurney Plaza...walk in straight to the last 2 shelves near the end and they are on the lower shelf. Just never paid attention to the watt. range.
There's a big specilalised electrical parts/equipment shop corner of Kimberly/Cintra St or Kimberly/Pantai Tali (I always get the 2 corners mixed up as they are fairly close tog) , they might have what you're looking for.
We got our very high capacity heavy duty one from the UK about 35 yrs ago (from a similar specialised elec shop). It has moved with us every where as we have appliances with 110v-240v and some with heating elements.

Regards,
BB
