The quickest route Phuket to KL according to DHL?
« on: September 04, 2009, 03:35:19 PM »
Well I know the answer - you can fly direct of course and it takes about an hour and a bit I think.

We never use DHL, flipping expensive, but we did a couple of days ago to send all our MM2H bumph down to KL and thought it was the best thing to do.  As we'd heard nothing, checked the online tracker and it's just arrived - took TWO days - via Singapore  :(  I mean, Fizzy could've driven down faster than that.

Should have used UPS:)

I had 2 large boxes (30kgs) collected by UPS from a house in Gloucestershire at 3pm on a Monday.  Wednesday morning they were delivered to Melaka.

UPS routing was via Franfurt, Clark and then Sepang I seem to remember.

90 quid a box.

Bargain!

Hahahaha  You bet f.thumb My best time was 9.5 hours, but I have been as slow as 13 hours when there have been floods in Northern Malaysia/Southern Thailand. [mind you that is to the north of the Island, I guess it would take another 40= mins to get down to your place papaya].
Shame it wasn't ready a couple of weeks ago, I would gladly have delivered it for you in exchange for a pint or two f.wink
The trouble with taking the ‘middle of the road’ position is that you get run over from both directions.

Ah that's very kind of you Fizzy  :)

I really don't know if UPS operates here but the big problem here is effective communication and, as our management office are fluent in Thai and English (sort of) and have a DHL account, this was the way to go.

Anyway I have filled out the Comments box on the DHL website with my thoughts and see if they have the courage to reply to me.

I just got to tell you this - I really cannot believe it.  We had to use DHL in Phuket again for a little package down to Penang.  Go on then, guess where it went.

Just looked on the DHL Tracker online system.  It took 2 days again.  (Firefly only takes 1 hour.)  The route was:

Phuket to Singapore  ???
Singapore to Bangkok  ???
Bangkok to Penang <hurrah> but no
Penang to Kuala Lumpur  ::)
Kuala Lumpur to Penang

I suppose I could email them again but life is too short.

hi,

That's pretty good. How much did it cost? I wouldn't mind a round trip myself, Thuket, Singapore, Bkk, Penang, KL, and Penang. It could be a very pleasant long weekend.  ;)

Does DHL take humans?  ~14~

We're hoping it will cost the same as the previous package sent in September, which is Zero.  They seem to have forgotten to bill us for that one  :D  Probably billed someone in Bangkok or Singapore or somewhere else down the line.
