Good quality garden furniture
« on: June 10, 2010, 12:08:58 AM »
Can anyone reccomend a good source of quality garden furniture that doesn't cost an arm and leg?
I'm interested in stuff that can live outside in this climate - not plastic, not fancy hardwoods.
Preferably the modern woven carbon fibre style stuff.
By the way - any sources for astro-turf/fake grass (but high quality) suitable for lining a crummy tiled patio?

 Just a suggestion:
Take a trip to Bali (back streets of Ubud)and you can pick up some real gems. Thailand also.
On my cursory excmianation of furniture (especially oudor) in Malaysia it has not got my juices going.
Cheers

Don't know were you live but if it's close to Penang, there is a decent shop with occasional good bargains on the mezzanine level in Island Plaza.
There is another one on Jalan Tanjung Tokong. Coming up from Gurney it's on the left just before Island plaza, it's called KK furniture if memory serves my right.

The guys in Bali specialise in shipping so that is no issue. I did try to find out the customs regime for Malaysia on this a few years back but never got anywhere. Perhaps others have experience.
So no, I haven't shipped anything in as yet but I certainly want to when I finally get my place in the sun.  :)
