One Malaysia with a twist !!
« on: November 18, 2009, 06:11:44 PM »
 From today's Star.
mmmmm

The Star recently reported that the Terengganu government would introduce the 1Toilet policy whereby teachers and principals would share toilets with students.

The policy was mooted in line with the 1Malaysia concept and to create a sense of belonging to inspire students to excel in studies.

hi,

I vaguely remember, many years ago, the Brit PM, Edward Heath, suggesting that folks share a toilet, or bath, with a friend.  :-X

When I worked in a Singaporean educational institution, the staff and students used the same facilities. The only distinction being between males and females.

Later, the place got upgraded and it was separate toilets. But the "any port in a storm" policy was generally adopted.  ;)

Thanks for that memory Scott.

I think it was in 1974, just as I was leaving the RAF for a new job in Hong Kong, that this 'energy reduction' program was being introduced in the UK.
Oil had just hit US$50 a barrel and pandemonia erupted..."the world is doomed" was the prediction!

He really meant that bathwater could be re-used; but the jokes that emanated from his statement was in the spirit of true British satire.
