What are these "clubs" all about?  Is this some kind of membership of a hotel club - what do you get?  what is the point?

Oh guys, how can you be living on Penang and discussing Fish n Chips?

Before I read your post I was driving past that very restraunt on Jln Lembah Permai,

Been trying to locate this on streetdirectory but I'm getting a bit confused.  I can see Jalan Lembah Permai on there (long road) and know where that is.  After doing a google, a couple of people are saying it's on Lorong Lembah Permai 3.  Now, is that a little road coming off of Jalan Lembah Permai or is someone getting their Lorongs and their Jalans muddled up?  ???

Yep the Blue Reef Fish'n'Chips are excellent and of course you should always eat them with Malt vinegar, however I found a place even better. The Dome F&C are the best I have tasted outside Cornwall. I think all branches are pretty good but the best I had was in Island Plaza at Tanjong Bungah.

Of course you will all go there now and the standards will fall :(

BB tell us more about membership of Park Royal, if not too expensive then we may join. If only because its the nearest decent loo to Sunset. We are not big drinkers but once in a while its nice to have a clean dunny.

We are members of the club at Sandy Paradise which is "OK Lah" but they throw in lots of extras like a free nights stay and discounts on just about everything. Not quite the standard of Park Royal but pretty good. They also do F&C but serve it with some kind of white vinegar in a dish :'(

Just in case you are interested a nice crisp Chardonnay (preferably a Kiwi) is wonderful with F&CBob

I've heard good reports from friends about the Dome's F&C.
Haha, Stevso, they saw you coming and gave you an apprentice  :D
Hmm, will go n try out this one at Blue Reef!  :P

Bob, Papaya the membership at P.Royal is Rm400+ a year. AS I mentioned earlier a meal for 2 is the best deal as you get 50% off the price at their restaurants even for fine dining at Tiffins. They also give one coupon like if 4 dine you get a bottle of wine, also couple coupons for free beer, glass of wine, high tea and RM200 for use as cash.
60% off rack rate for rooms in Pg and KL, upgrade coupons etc. We usually stay at the P.R. in KL when we go there and we do go a few times a yr.
If you're interested contact Adeline at P.R. Prestige Club (she's worked there 5 yrs) 012-4848018 and she can fill you in on more details  :)

Oops you're right on Papaya, it's Lorong after I checked the web  :-[
It's actually located at the corner of the Jln and Lorong where the Lorong leads to TAR college. We drove in on the Jln side  :-\

Cheers BB - so I guess technically it's on both the Jalan and the Lorong  :-\  I've just found it on wikimapia - it's actually marked on there.

Papaya

Tower Records closed their store in Gurney Plaza several weeks ago. For classical or jazz CDs, I think your only option now is the music shop in Midlands One Stop.

Thanks Bill.  That's a shame about Tower Records - maybe we're the only ones buying CDs these days  :'(
