Questions about the Renewal Form IM 55
« on: July 13, 2009, 05:27:09 PM »
Hi, I'll be going to Penang State Immig for the Renewal. Sorting out all the required documents and the form now.
1. I notice there in no spot for the photo like the form for the Extension. Is it required??
2. Ques 10....Date of present entry.....is this the latest date I entered M'sia after most recent holiday trip overseas?

Thanks  :)

I think so.
The trouble with taking the ‘middle of the road’ position is that you get run over from both directions.

hi, BB,

1). For getting the MM2H visa stamped into your new passport it's a Change of Passport and you need the Social Visit Application Form IM.12 which has a space for photos.

However, in this case :

2). For Renewal of Visa you need the Extension of Social Visit Pass Application Form IM.55 which does not have any space for a photo as you rightly point out. You don't need one.

The Malay title for the IM.55 Form is : Permohonan Lanjutan Pas Lawatan.

Leave Item 6 blank as it doesn't apply, except for Singaporeans, or if you have a Malaysian identity card.

Leave Item 9 blank as it doesn't apply for MM2H renewal.

Item 10 Date of Present Entry means that last entry into Malaysia after your holiday.
Item 13 Period of Extension Sought, put 10 years.
Item 14 Reasons for Seeking Extension, put MM2H Renewal.

I've given more information than you asked just in case someone else is wondering about something.

BTW, it's a good idea anyway to carry a couple of photos with you. You never know when they'll come in handy. I've carried a set of 4 photos in my wallet for about 5 years and never needed them, but that's probably because I have them.   :D

Good one Scott. That's the way insurance works. If you got it, usually you don't need to use it :-\

Different departments sometimes need different sized photos e.g the driving license photo is a smaller one.

I recently gave my 'runner' photos which were about 5 or 6 years old when applying for my new drivers license. The old witch at JPJ who had never ever seen me, rejected them as she wanted recent ones. My 'runner' tried all sorts of 'plea bargains' to save an unnecessary trip, but without avail. So be warned!!! :-[
