I'm in the process of applying for MM2H and have a 1995 Bayliner flybridge 35 foot twin diesel powerboat in Vancouver, Canada. It has its own generator and air conditioner, three staterooms and two bathrooms.
I wondered if it was feasible or desirable to ship it to Penang. Does this kind of boat fit with the sea states around those parts and where can one travel to.
Does Malaysia tax or have any strict regulations on an imported boat.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you manage to sell it or are you thinking of moving it to Asian waters?

Amazingly, we have just sold ours - on Christmas Eve.  We weren't quite sure what to do about it.  A couple of people suggested that it would be too small a boat for the waters around Penang and we suspected that anyway.  Our marina fees came up for renewal in October (expensive in Phuket) so decided to get it out of the water and our boat agent offered to sell it - and he did.  Quite surprised how quickly it sold.  (Wish the villa would sell quickly too  )

We've kept all the bits and bobs - lifejackets, rope cutter, etc just in case we think about another boat at some future stage - never say never eh.
