The beauty of this site is you get a cross section of applicants, those who have plenty of time on their hands and like a challenge and applying directly and those who would rather cut out the hassle and pay an agent to do it. Of the latter category you get those who would like VFM (value for money) and those who are just happy to pay the going rate. This site has the advantage of posters who have used certain agents and are in a position to recommend them because they do what it says on the tin for what they charge, At the end of the day, if one is happy with an agent's services and what they charge, no matter how much or how little, then that must be what counts- As for myself getting the go ahead from the MM2H authorities to stay in MY is.....priceless. (btw I haven't reached that stage yet)

Hi everyone...I'm a newbie here (from Vancouver, Canada) and in the process of collating my data and applying for the MM2H.

Prior to reading this forum I searched and found Altur Domus. I was not impressed with their rate for this procedure and questioned their cost. I was not impressed with the answer so eventually enrolled with Joy-Stay.
MYR 8,000 for A.D. versus MYR 1,800 for a semi-diy with J.S. seems a no brainer to me and, so far, everything points to a good decision. Time will tell.

Has anyone had a bad experience with Joy-Stay?

Joy-Stay has received nothing but good reviews from users of this site.  Her fee is reasonable compared to the 8000RM Domus is asking.  I live in the States and did the whole thing myself and it all went smoothly.  But if i had to use an agent, Joy-Stay would most likely be my choice...Jim

hi, Davita,

Welcome to the site. As you can see from this thread there are a lot of opinions which is really good.

As ADMIN I'm going to take the advice from earlier in this thread and refrain from giving a recommendation.

So far there are 2 agents listed on the Agents Board. Listing by agents is conditional on the agent company posting their charges.

Thank you for the welcome Scott.
I like the policy of only permitting those willing to show their cost structure to advertise here...seems fair.
When my MM2H is accepted I hope to participate on this forum and provide information on the agent's performance for others to witness.

Hi All,

Seems like I opened a real can of worms when I asked for recommendations. :o
I would like to say I do like the rule of only those agents willing to post full charges being allowed to list on the site seems very fair and keeps all on the up and up.
I choose Joy-Stay and so far Yvonne has been extremly helpful in working with us to get all done she has also gone out of her way to answer other questions that I had that in no way was related to the MM2H program which was great.  We have choosen to go with an agent due to time constrants and the fact that most of this has to be done from overseas in our case.  Having lived in Africa and Mongolia I was not willing to take on the job of dealing with all the gov offices that I may or may not have had to as one doesn't know when you are new to the country.
Due to time we knew that when we came for a very quick look see we didn't have all forms with us but Yvonne agreed to meet with us and go over the forms we had to double check them and also to advise on forms we still needed which was very nice of her as she doesn't want any payment till you send her the complete package to send in to the gov. Once all forms are complete and sent I will let you all know how we get on.  I would also like to thank Scott for having this forum as it is a great service for those of us trying to find info on a new area that we are moving to.

hi,

Thanks Davita, keep us posted on your progress.

And thanks to frozoz for the can of worms. The nice thing is that we all get a chance to air our views in a pleasant and respectful manner. Everything adds to the collective information which is great.

Hi Folks,

Received our MM2H visas last week, and although there have been a lot of comments on this string about the cost and whether or not to use an agent, we decided it was best for us to use one and chose Alter Domus.  As the old adage goes, "you get what you pay for":  They are well worth EVERY PENNY!   Great folks who do a GREAT job...and they are THERE for you in ANY situation, even after you've got your visa.  Their phones are open 24/7.  ANY problem, question...ANYthing, they're there to help...for the rest of your life!!!
