Recently I went to PWTC (Putra World Trade Centre) to check out the
MM2H One Stop Centre.
Its on Level 23 if you ever need to go there.
We encountered a fairly knowledgeable Japanese lady & a Malay lady. The Japanese lady was married to a Malaysian and had lived here for about 16 years, and she gave us the necessary information & forms to apply for an extra year for our children as their passports expire at the end of this year and we just got them new ones. So they were only given four years whilst my wife and I got 5 when we applied in 2003.
We had the good fortune to ask this lady which level and WHICH desk at PutraJaya Immigration Department & this saved us a lot of time later......see below
Sadly this place is not a one stop centre for MM2H applications as you still need to got to PutraJaya for your Visa.
The Headquarters of the Department of Immigration (Ministry of Home Affairs) is located in Precint 2; Block 2G4; and you need to go to Level 3.
On entering you will be faced with the usual chaotic Immigration crowds with about 25 different windows, few of which are clearly identified.
You
will not see a MM2H window. If you go to the window which says something like Information and ask for the MM2H desk you will be directed to the next counter to get one of those infernal queuing numbers and the desk plaque says something like "Forms and Number Tickets.
The MM2H window is a secret which I will reveal here. It is Window Number 9 unsurprisingly situated between desk 8 & 10!! However the plaque above the desk which indicates this fact was not above the desk (but it was for all the others) when we went there last week, but it was sitting flat on the counter and was only visible when you reached the desk .
My wife went up to this empty desk (no 9) whilst I was advised at another desk to get a queuing ticket.
In less than 20 seconds an Immigration Officer strolled over and started to attend to her.
The great news is that within 30 minutes we were exiting the building will new 1 year visa extension for the kids.
I have to say we were very impressed.
Just before our transaction was completed we spotted a Caucasian couple enter the room and wander up and down. I suspected they were MM2H applicants so approached them. Indeed they were and I was able to point them to desk 9 which once again was unattended. As we departed we saw the same Immigration Officer approach the desk.
I felt I had done my 'good deed' for the day.
