Working 20 hours - Employment / Recruitment Agencies?
« on: March 31, 2009, 05:12:04 PM »
Well, now that we can 'contribute' to the economy, where are these agencies that will put MM2H applicants in touch with employers - given that the applicants can only work 20 hours per week.

Any thoughts on that scenario - suggestions as to how we can find these employers/agencies etc?

Sounds like a perfect job for 4 or 5 MM2Hers to get together and start one - not working more that an average of 20 hours per week  ;)

Cheers

If 5 MM2Hers started an agency they could all work 120 hours per week as active directors, thats 600 hours per week or the equivalent of 30 MM2Hers working part time. A net increase for the program of 25 MM2Hers without any additional cost or agents fees :D :D :D :-X

Don't just cut and paste, say what you think!

hi,

I think that my2homers could help to promote MM2H by offering to MoTour to sit-in at Tourism offices throughout the country to hold workshops/seminars on applying for MM2H.

This could be co-ordinated (online) under a charity organisation that also helps match my2homers to employers. And also helps my2homers to offer voluntary services (especially teaching English, conversational or otherwise) to local schools, Chinese associations, Malay and Tamil organisations.

A few years ago, a couple moored their boat along a river in Perak. They were only going to stay for a couple of weeks. They stayed for months. The lady of the boat got involved with teaching English to a group of local kids. Just a couple of times a week. She told me that it had been the highlight of her stay in Malaysia, if not the past 20 years. She enjoyed it so much. The kids use of English improved, and the local community gave her a farewell dinner when she finally left. Great, huh.

regards, Scott
