Howdy Everyone,

Just a hello. Newbie here who's in the process of applying for the MM2H program. I am from Hong Kong and hubby is a Malaysian and both of us have been away too long from Asia. Thus getting ready to say goodbye to California cos the sun no longer shines here. It has gone to Malaysia to spend its vacation.

Anyway, I thought I would like to give credit where credit's due to an agent called Joy-Stay. Just noticed that this company is listed in this section too. No, I am not promoting this agent, but would like everyone to know that we have great experience with this agency, prompt response and professional in every way during our initial inquiry. After contacting various agents, we found Joy-Stay to be our preferred choice.

However, I saw a property I like at Sepang Gold Coast and bought it, surprised that the MM2H is part of their package without any cost to us. So we are now in the process to apply for the MM2H through the developer.

We are using Joy-Stay also, all very efficient and we just got the conditional approval letter through.  Maybe we'll see you guys in Penang next year.  I think Scott has split out a Penang sub-forum on here somewhere for us Penang banterers.

We haven't 'used' Joy-Stay yet simply because we still have to formally engage their services but we fully intend to because when I have contacted Yvonne to clarify some points regarding the MM2H submission she has responded promptly and with clear advice.

Yes indeed. We contact Yvonne from Joy-stay before we went to Malaysia for our first visit. Yvonne met me and answered more than 4 pages of questions that I have previously prepared, even difficult specialized questions. Every time I ask her by email, she replies within an hour, or next day if it's too late. Her website is the most complete and up to date, period! If i was to put money and buy my piece of mind by using an agent who has 100% success rate, it would be Joy-Stay!

For the record, Joy-Stay's 100% success record is because, as I understand it, Joy-Stay refuses to put in applications that will fail.

Joy-Stay doesn't have an "administrative charge" for dodgy applications.

I really like this professional approach. And I believe that all agents should follow this level of professionalism.

After all, how much Immigration time and effort is wasted in plowing through shoddy applications, then rejecting them, simply because some agents want to pick up an admin fee of RM800.

Answer : Charge agents per submission. Say, RM1,000, which is returnable for a successful application. Now that would add-in a much needed level of accountability.
