I think that you're right about that BillJay, so the tax issue for a PR as against MM2H would be the need to register for tax, and complete a tax return, as a PR. I imagine that this would be pretty easy as it's all online now.

Hi all,

I have nothing to back this up but I fear that if you passed to PR status then all the perks from MM2H would be revoked unless they were also available under PR.

I am guessing that the MM2H Tax concession effectively zero rates us on the Malaysian system, I think this would change under PR.

The odds against getting long term assurances are pretty high. But that shouldn't put you off, even if you did get those assurance 10 years is a long time and anything can happen in S.E.Asia. I don't know if any of the other similar programmes offer such assurances but my guess is that they don't.
