So... how is it going?  How long to complete it?

hi,

Thanks for asking.

It's going well although working 6 days a week from 9am to 5pm is cream-crackering me.  :-X

Being back at work, even for myself and at my own decision, is no fun at the moment. I'm trying hard to make it fun but after 14 years of loafing-off it's hard to get the deadlines into perspective.

Loafing-off is just so good. I should have started earlier. Still as the boat is a hobby working on it is fine but it takes some real adjustments, like getting out of bed, getting ready and going somewhere. And with a commitment to doing something. Makes me nervous. There's a learning experience happening here.

Still, the steering is re-built and has been tested although I've lost the bit that goes onto the steering wheel hub to stop it falling off. I've spent hours searching for it.

The anchor windlass is now installed which meant cutting through the steel deck. And all the new portholes and hatches are in and bedded in UV Sikaflex, the good stuff. And there's quite a bit of internal framing ready for the finishes.

I'm still waiting for the saw mill to deliver some quality marine plywood. The stuff that I got a few weeks ago I sent back as it wasn't up to standard, although the price was for 1st quality.

Not bad after 7 weeks, with 2 of us. Oh, the engine is partially re-built and by the end of this week will be fully complete. Next step to try it. It hasn't been started since August 2000. So I'm sourcing for batteries and need to connect up the new fuel tank.

The deadline for launching is the end of the year. That's this year. Hmmmmmmmm? Not sure, but hey, it's something to work towards. It'll be ready to float but the real finish is CNY.

Sounds like quite a major project.  Hope we're going to get some pics on here when it's complete?  :)

I know what you mean about the "getting out of bed, getting ready".  It's not nice, is it.
