February 2009 Renewals
« on: February 20, 2009, 11:18:27 AM »
Hi Guys

Why this Msian Government is flip flops all the time. I got an email  yesterday from Joy-Stay.com, giving me the greenlight to go ahead with the application with the condition that me and my husband are still working in the US. The paystubs will show more than RM10,000/month. What happen if Ihave the MM2H VISA and do not have the RM10,000 per month income by then?

What I dont understand is every few months, there is new ruling. We can never keep up with the changes.

Gin

I guess you got a problem 10 year from now.
I am in a similar situation. I got the 5-year Visa based on the income option. Then income dropped below 10k p/m. Immigration did not refer to it on extension in 2007 (new passport).
Only in 2010 when I want to apply for Renewal then again I need to show proof of income.
I don't need no thought control

If you applied using the FD option, nothing happens. There is no requirement to re-prove your support income. On renewal you need to show just the Fixed Deposit certificate, and the medical insurance.

Those folk that I know who have renewed on the income option have not been asked to re-prove income. The MM2H Motour site does not indicate that proof is needed, it only refers to the FD.

I'll shortly move these posts to the Extension & Renewal section.

I renewed in July 2008. I originally got accepted on just the income criteria. On renewal I did need to show proof of source of income. Just producing a copy of 12 months bank statements was not adequate. This meant an extra journey for me as I had to dig out a recent letter from my pension provider :-\

A friend of mine joined for just a year in 2002, using the FD option. Just after he got his 1 year visa he with drew all of his FD. After 12 months he renewed for 5 years, and the FD was not mentioned.
Four months ago he renewed again for 5 years and they asked to see hi FD certificate. He replied. I never had a FD. (not strictly true, but true in relation to his current 5 year visa). The replied OK, and he got his new five year visa.

Recent info suggests that proof of source of income (or is it proof of income) will no longer be required in the future, but I think this still has to be ratified

So you see.......the rules and regs are as clear as mud......but more importantly as has been stated many times in this forum...it all depends on you you get on the day.....and there is nought as strange as folk!!! :-\ :-\ :o :( >:( :D

hi, FCS,

We're getting off topic but I'll move these posts later.

The 3 folks that I know (on the pension option) did not have to re-prove income. They were able to confirm that the original pension was still in place.

Is this how you see it?

regards, Scott

The Immigresen 'Flow Chart' 1.2.2 Renewal - After 5 Year Period, actually states:- CURRENT PROOF OF MONTHLY OFFSHORE INCOME (IF APPLICABLE).

I took along all relevant documents including 12 months of bank statements showing a monthly sum well in excess of the minimum requirement stated appearing in my bank around the 28th of each month.....and this was not accepted!. I then had to produce a letter from my 'pension provider' which indicated that my pension was increasing by a miserly 3% from Nov 2008, and this was accepted!

That's is how it actually was.

Hi,
I have been browsing the different postings concerning extensions, renewals, personal bonds, security bonds, DIY and applying through an agent.  I'd like to give my thoughts especially on extensions and renewals.

Thailand has IMO the easiest conditions for a long term stay.  800K baht deposit and income of 65K per month.  The downside for me is the visit to Immigration every 90 days.  If am 50 years old and will not leave Thailand until I am 80 years, this means that I will visit the Immigration office 120 times.  Did I get this right?

Malaysia definitely has its benefits.  Their conditions for a 10 year visa under mm2h, IMO are acceptable.  However, I would like to  give my two cents worth of suggestion.

When an applicant files for the first time, or even those that have been approved, instead of receiving a visa for 5years or less (depending on the validity of the passport) should get some kind of an ID card valid for 10 YEARS and pay for the fees.  This ID card under the mm2h program can be used, among others, to enter and leave Malaysia (multiple entry) provided the holder has a valid unexpired passport.  This simplifies the whole process.  Apply once, and if successful, visit the Immigration Office every ten years.  There are conditions of course, like report to the Immigration in writing in case there is a change in your status, change of address...etc.  Any violation will of course be subject to non-renewal of your visa.  Then, when renewing, apply and present to Immigration the requirements that is in effect at present......or effective at the the time of renewal.  Is this sensible?  Viable?

Just my two cents worth.

Thailand has IMO the easiest conditions for a long term stay.  Yes would agree with that

800K baht deposit and income of 65K per month.  You only need the deposit OR the income, not both

The downside for me is the visit to Immigration every 90 days.  If am 50 years old and will not leave Thailand until I am 80 years, this means that I will visit the Immigration office 120 times.  Did I get this right?  Yup - good isn't it?
