I thought I would post my exact experience here for the benefit of others who may undergo this in the future.
Firstly we collated all the required supporting documents namely:-
1. Passports
2. Photocopy of passports
3. Forms IM55 (2 copes for each person with a passport sized photo attached to each)
4. Copy of Health Insurance payment (for each person)
5.
Current proof of monthly offshore income **(see below in blue) 6. Payment of RM90 per year for Social Visit Pass/Person (on approval).
We arrived at level 3 of the Putrajaya Immigresen Centre, and went to level 3, and proceeded straight to window 9. A lady was seated there. She advised we should get a number ticket from counter 18. So we got number 6012, and all the numbers on the electronic boards were indicating 2000+, so we went back to the lady with the number, and she said 'take a seat and wait for your number to be called'. We asked 'Are there many people ahead of us?'. She replied 'No, you are next, please take a seat!'
After about 10 minutes our number was called, but for desk
10. We submitted all our documents, and had a copy of our Property Sales & Purchase Agreement as back up documentation, just in case it was required
However it was all to be a wasted journey.
When
he (yes it was a very pleasant gentleman seated at desk no 10,) looked through the 15 months of Bank Statements showing a regular montly income in Sterling which is well in excess of the minimum amount, he stated that it was unaceptabe as it was not clear where the income was derived from.
**So to avoid the same mistake, if you qualified on Pension Income, make sure you bring the most recent letter from your pension provider which has some relevant information regarding your current pension such as their name and address and your name and address etc on the document (be it informing you of a review increase or some other such change). Luckily I have such in my file at home. So I will take that with me when I return and in addition I will take my P60 Tax Year End Certificate also, which has my Pension Provider details & my own address in Malaysia on the same document.I stated to the gentleman, that he had a letter from my Pension Provider on file from my 1st application which was still valid, but he was keen to see something more recent in case things had changed.
Realising that we would get no further at this point we said 'Thank You' and left the building.
However I now believe that indeed you can renew on the same basis on which your were first accepted, despite the number of subsequent rule changes. In my case that is 'on a
Company Pension' without having to place RM60,000 on deposit for the life of your stay under
MM2H in Malaysia.
More later (after visit 2).
