Fred's lost his knighthood but keeps the pension cash. The way the world turns.

One fine day I was at the branch of RBS in Sitiawan, Perak. Of all places for what must have been one of the very few RBS branches in the whole of Malaysia.

The manager there was asking me to put my retirement cash into RBS shares. They had already plunged so couldn't go down much further. Luckily I didn't, and unluckily they did. The branch later closed down.

(Reuters) - Britain stripped the former head of Royal Bank of Scotland of his knighthood on Tuesday, putting a banker reviled by tabloids as "Fred the Shred" alongside Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe and Romania's Nicolae Ceausescu as those who lost the high honour.
