Mid-week golf in Penang, anyone?
« on: February 16, 2008, 10:05:52 PM »
Any forum member living in Penang who fancies a round of golf mid-week, please reply here or PM me.

I've found a few partners for weekend golf, but sadly (!) they still have jobs to keep them busy mid-week, when it's less crowded and cheaper.

regards,
John.

I'm afraid I cant oblige. Having me on a golf course just would not be safe.

Does anyone know if the Penang Rifle Club is still in operation? and if so do can anyone join?

Bob

Contact the Singapore Gun club as they have listed a competition with the venue of the the Penang Rifle club, therefore they should have contact details

Hi JJ,

Thanks for the info. It looks like these clubs are skeet, trap and clay (gentlemens shooting) :) I continue the search for pistols.

Regards

I know it is not Penang but City Square Shooting Gallery Sdn Bhd  (on Jalan Tun Razak in KL) provides a service with a selection of pistols for hire.
Check out www.citysquareshootinggallery.com for details.
The trouble with taking the ‘middle of the road’ position is that you get run over from both directions.

I am sorry this golfing thread has become a 'shooting thread'. Maybe it is worth separating into two different thread under hobbies or some such :o

I have never played golf in Penang. I guess there can't be many courses there.

There are 50 courses withing one hours drive of central KL, and if any of you are down in KL for a couple of days and fancy a game...let me know. There is a regular Tuesday group which I am involved with. We T-off at different courses at 8.00am. We put RM100 in the kitty, and that cover green fees, buggies, and some beer and makan afterwards. Great value by any measure.

hi,

There's already a thread at :  Leisure, Hobbies and Pastimes

Not much on it though. Let's keep this thread going for golf and shooting. And any other stuff can go on the above thread.

regards, Scott
