Unfortunatly I'm still in the UK at the moment. Due out, hopefully, in May. Maybe we can arrange an online inaugural p**s up in the mean time?

I thought you were moving to KL though?

I was in Hong Kong in 78/79 when it was cheap! I used to take home £500 a month spending money (Food and accomadation was paid by the Army) Beer in the NAAFI was 10p a pint  O0. I seem to remember that down town it was more expensive to buy the coke, than the spirits! Maybe thats my rose coloured spectacles?

My claim to fame was being the organiser of the trip round the San Migeul brewery. It took us 10 mins from getting off the bus to getting in to the bar! A record!

What a shock I got when I went back to Hong Kong in the mid 90's!

OK so petrol (Ron95) is now RM1.90/litre [shock horror from the good old days when it was 'sens'/litre].

Just consider for a moment the UK where diesel in now £1.44/litre. That equates with a hundred quid or R500 to fill (in the words of Jeremy Clarkson) the tank of a 'reasonably priced car'!!!!

I think petrol is about £1.39. ..... so much cheaper....but doesn't get you so far!!

The trouble with taking the ‘middle of the road’ position is that you get run over from both directions.
