Hi BB,

Do you recall what the cost of the medical was?

I want to be sure I get the correct medical. It would'nt be much fun getting to KL to collect the visa only to find I had the wrong documents.

HI Bob,

The standard form is on the MM2H website. I can't see how you could get the wrong document as there is only one. If I recall I think we paid RM 30 each for me and the wife.

Cheers

Thanks Brian,

I was not sure if there was an addition medical certificate provided by the Hospital.

Hi Bob,

It was about only Rm50-60 for my husband and I.
Just that standard form downloaded from MoT site, had 2 copies made just in case one got lost- no extra charge and the Dr. certified the copies are true with his 'certified' stamp and signature.

hi,

You can access the form via Links on this site.

Also there's more info on the medical form via It's the Simple Form on this board.

If you're visiting the One-Stop Centre in KL, then you can get the form from them. Well, the last time I was there it was available.

regards, Scott

Hi Scott,

I will only be on quick visit to KL just to get the visa. I am hoping that the downloaded and printed form will be OK even though it looks a bit ropey. If it isn't I will need to get the form in Penang.

Did you check out the SMM2H site from Mudtour?

hi, Qjumper,

Yes, I've had a quick check and there's some really good stuff there. I will go through more thoroughly tomorrow when I have more time. Looks like it will explain the Sarawak mysteries. I'll copy the links over to the Sarawak/Sabah thread.

regards, Scott

I am  71  years old living in Penang and need medical insurance to  extend my Malaysia Second Home Visa for another 5 years.
I have searched over 30 insurance companies on the net.  Only 1 of them will insure up to age 100, but they only accept entry age below 65 or 60 (makes business sense).  That means 65+ cannot apply for MM2H.  Current MM2Hers might not be able to extend their visa when they are over 65.  Perhaps the government can ask 65+ to deposit an additional fixed deposit as medical insurance.  My mother is going strong at 91.  With improving medical science on my side I aim to surpass her record.  If you know of any sympathetic insurers please kindly post.

Hi rmyu. if you can produce a letter from an insurance company stating that you have been refused the insurance you should be OK. No need for extra deposits.

hi, rmyu,

Yep, Steph is right. Get AIG to give you a refusal letter. That's what I'm planning to do. If we manage to get a "feedback" unit in place with direct access to MoTour then this is one area we can discuss with them.

Something along the lines of not even bothering about insurance of applicants/visa holders over 65 years.

Meanwhile, get turned-down first.  :'(

Thank you all for encouraging information.  I received "disqualification" emails from :
Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia, AmAssurance, Blue cross, Hong Leong Assurance etc.
I have now received MM2H Centre's reply:
"You may get the exemption of medical insurance if none of the companies have the package for senior retirees. Please get an rejection letter  from any insurance company and attach in your application. "
So all's well that ends well.

Re: MM2h Medical - Gleneagles Penang

I saw that Gleneagles was mentioned in this posting (tho a little while back).  We went to Gleneagles Penang this morning to do the MM2H medical.  We were assured they could do the basic MM2H medical, proceeded to filling out their forms, then told we'd have to have blood test, HIV test.  They waved a bit of paper saying it was required for MM2H.  We insisted it wasn't, and they wouldn't agree, so we left and went to Adventist.

For anyone wanting to try Adventist, they said that we'd need an appointment.  As we could not, leaving in a couple of days, they said we could come back first thing the next day to do the mm2h medical.  So.. early morning... cannot wait  >:(

We had the same experience with Gleneagles, I called them last year and they wanted to do all kinds of tests: blood, stoolsamples the works ;0
We decided to give it a miss and called Loh Guan Lye hospital on Logan road, we made an appointment for the same day. Their costumer relations manager helped us with the paperwork and brought us to the doctor. The doctor gave us hand checked if we were breathing and declared us healthy.
I think they charged us 50 or 60RM each.
