JOY-STAY - My experience
« on: June 27, 2011, 10:07:01 PM »

Hello Everybody,

I wish to share my experience of having used the services of the agent JOY-STAY for the MM2H Visa.

I applied for the Visa begining November 2010 and, end January, obtained the Conditional Letter of Approval.  I went to KL beginning April and got my passport stamped within 5 working days.

Everything went smoothly.  While I was compiling all documents for the application, Yvonne Lim provided very clear replies/clarification to all my queries.  She understood not only my question but also my underlying concerns as well.  She has a very good knowledge of how things are to be done and more importantly how they should not be done! She is very resourceful and proved to be helpful for other matters than visa.  I met Yvonne Lim in April and there again, I found her to be a very pleasant person in addition to being professional.

The most painful stage in all this was assembling, compiling, translating, certifying the papers !  But there again, Yvonne Lim checked the documents one last time before I actually couried them to KL.  This was very helpful and very much appreciated.

Now I am a happy MM2H Visa holder and can't wait to start a new life in KL soon.

As for JOY-STAY, I can only recommend her services without any reserve.

I hope this is useful.

Sabina

My wife and I also used Joy-Stay's semi-DIY for our MM2H visas which were stamped in Jan 2010. Other than receiving our visa in KL, everything was conducted from Canada, where we resided.

Since then, the DIY visa has been made available and, consequently, because of the reason the agent needs to attend at the issue of the visa,  the Joy-Stay semi-DIY method is not available.

I agree with the OP that, given the requirements of MM2H and accessing from afar, Joy-Stay is impeccable.

I never met Yvonne, it would be my pleasure to do so, but totally agree with Sabina about Yvonne's service and business model.

My good friend, an English lawyer/judge from Hong Kong, followed my recommendation and was equally pleased with Joy-Stay's service.

Paradoxically, neither of us are living in Malaysia, we both live in Indonesia. They live in Bali and we live in Jakarta.

We both have to visit Malaysia often to satisfy the Indonesian visa requirements.

IMHO.....the MM2H is a wonderful visa and should not be abused.

I endorse both the above posts. Yvonne does insist on higher document requirements than other agents, but this virtually guarantees there are no failures in the process. I would rather have this than be rejected by Immigration for having one or two papers out of line and then wasting time in resubmittal. In my view, the whole point of having an agent is to have the benefit of their experience and contacts to take the uncertainty and possible frustration out of the process. Yvonne's approach is highly professional - and it works.

My application went in on 27th April and Yvonne confirmed Immigration approval yesterday - just two months, for a submission including myself, my wife and two children on the over-50s Fixed Deposit scheme. Pretty good, in  my book.

Congrats Paotonboy!

On topic: I did my complete application from the Netherlands a couple years ago with the help of Joy Stay.
The whole procedure went fast and flawless. Highly recommended.

Another point, her after sales is also very good, any question I have had over the years she has answered within 24 hours with up to date information.

Yes - the impression I'm getting here is that the MM2H process is quite user-friendly. From the tracking system on the website to the efficiency of the department involved, it has been definitely a better experience than I had feared. Admittedly, my past experiences in such matters have been in Philippines and Indonesia - both absolute nightmares, being more an excercise in the creative extraction of money for "fast-tracking" things that should have been done properly in the first place (if you know what I mean).

Congrats paotonboy.  That's great news.  We can also give thumbs up to Yvonne.  It made the process easier for us but, as always, it's a personal choice.  For me, I like the easy life these days and always prefer to pay someone to do something.  It's probably an age thing  :'(

Pleased to report that we received our MM2H visa stamps (me, wife and 2 kids) on 5th October after Yvonne from Joy-Stay assisted us through our insurance medicals and went personally  to the Immigration on our behalf to collect the visas. Point to note here is that personal attendance by the applicants is no longer required for the visa stamp - the agent can do it on your behalf. Not sure how long this will last though, as it seems to be down to the whims of whoever is in charge of the department at the time.

To say that Yvonne goes the extra mile in serving the needs of her clients is an understatement indeed. Nothing is too much trouble ,and her advice and follow up actions for everything is prompt and first class. Possibly the nicest part was at the end of the process, after we had our stamps, when she confirmed to me that the amount I had sent for her agency fees was too much!

The key dates in our application were:

Submission to Joy-Stay of all papers - 27th April 2011

Receipt of Provisional Approval letter - 28th June 2011

After that, our visit to Malaysia was delayed due to personal business in UK. We opened bank account on 26th September, and from then to the receipt of the visa stamp we needed to transfer money from overseas to open the FD account, and then get the medicals, health insurance policy, bank lien letter, FD deposit certificate and school study letter all in place. All that took just 9 calendar days when we got the visa on 5th October!

So, basically, the whole process from initial submission to Joy-stay through to getting the visa stamp would have taken us just two months plus 9 days had we been in a position to be in Malaysia earlier.

Needless to say, we would recommend Yvonne every time.

Congrats John!

Almost a year ago, I did write to Yvonne asking her if she has a branch in KK and she replied instantly that she does not.  I honestly feel great trust in her after reading all the good comments in this forum.

G'day,
Yvonne Lim from Joy-Stay has done it again and in very very short time.
My wife's passport required a visa extension.
All documentation and passport were sent by DHL on Monday 19 Dec. in the PM to Yvonne who immediately processed everything and returned it to us in Penang via DHL by midday on Wednesday 21 Dec.
In less than 48 hours, Yvonne gave me "the best quality customer service" I have ever had in Malaysia.
The cost was her standard RM450.  The value was much more.
All power to Joy-Stay.

Cheers & Beers,

JAYDEE
