Personal Bond Form : Attached
« on: May 20, 2011, 10:34:50 PM »
hi,

Here's the Personal Bond Form.

It's the one used by agents acting as the applicants' sponsor.

The applicant doesn't have to pay anything as the form is on a  "what you will pay if this happens" basis. The agent also doesn't pay anything in respect of this.

hi, me-cutiepie,

Welcome to the site.

The Personal Bond Form and the Security Bond Form are essentially the same except :

1). The Security Bond is the name used when it's a Direct Application (i.e. DIY).
2). The Personal Bond is the name used when the application is via an agent.

Check out : Immigration Unit Application Guidelines : Renewal

Also : Renewal : MM2H Ministry of Tourism Guidelines 2011

You'll see that in the MM2H Ministry of Tourism guidelines it says, "Provide security bond if for renewal done personally."

But this is not required in the Immigration Unit guidelines.

In practice, members have reported that the bond is not required for renewal.

hi,

This is from the mm2h.gov.my site :

Quote
RENEWAL – AFTER 5 YEAR PERIOD
a.   The Applicant must be present in person at the Immigration Department of Malaysia or State Immigration Department which issued the initial approval.

The Security Bond is not an item required in the Immigration Guidelines. A friend renewed the MM2H visa a couple of months ago and it wasn't required. Other members have posted about their own renewals in 2011, and they didn't need the Security Bond.

hi,

Well, it says you have to be present so that means . . .

The friend of mine that renewed a couple of months ago renewed 1 month before the expiry. No problems, no hassle.

I don't know about any time limit for renewals. Anyway if you want to renew, and it expires on August 14th 2011, then you don't have much choice but to turn up and go for it.

Remember the whole set-up has moved from PWTC (Putra World Trade Centre in KL) to Putrajaya, and it moved over the past couple of weeks. Maybe they won't notice anything.

After all, if they hadn't been closed and moving you could have gone there last week . . . . .   ^-^

There's a time preference on extensions where the visa is a "transfer of endorsement" from an old passport to a new passport. Maybe that's what you heard.

Keep in touch and let us all know.

Good luck.    8-)
