Picking up Visas
« on: September 12, 2007, 03:27:43 PM »
Hi,

Is it necessary when picking up your visas that you are both present?  If all the documentation is in order would it be neccesary for my wife to be with me as long as I had both passports. I ask this question as she is travelling up from Perth this week so we can do all the necessary - medicals/insurance/FD . However, our approval letter has been sent to our old address in Singapore and they seem very reluctant to give us a duplicate so it may take some time to get the original. As she has got to go back on 21 September she can send me her passport by DHL when she arrives back in perth.

Cheers

Brian

hi,

I don't know about the spouse's visa. The approval letter says you have to turn up in person.
I've always assumed it meant everyone. Perhaps other members can post on this.

If you haven't already, I suggest that you visit the One-Stop Centre, and stress about the duplicate. They told me, several months ago, that they keep copies of all the files.

regards, Scott

I think this is typical "grey area"!, and it very much depends on who you see on the day. With the right person you may be able to pick up both visas. With the wrong person they may insist on both of you being present!

Personally we always attend as a family.

Good luck, and if you do go alone please post on the forum with the outcome!

Thanks
The trouble with taking the ‘middle of the road’ position is that you get run over from both directions.
