HTGA : Changing the Capitalisation on the FD

hi,

Some folks took out an FD and the interest is capitalised i.e. added to the principal every year. As you can't touch the FD, you can't get your hands on the interest. Catch 22.

How to go about changing this. You can apply to have this changed by writing to the Ministry of Tourism.


Submit a request to the Ministry of Tourism, at the following address:

ED : Old address deleted and new address added back)

Note : 01 Aug 2011 New Address for the MM2H Centre at Putrajaya.

And supply the following information/documents with the application:

1). copy of your passport with personal particulars.
2). copy of your MM2H visa.
3). copy of your fixed deposit.
4). letter of intent to have interest earned credited into your savings account.

You may attach the scan copies of all documents, and a consent letter will be issued to the bank concerned to release your deposit with cc to you.

 I am going to scream  !!     I have been trying for weeks to get some kind of answer on how to release interest from the CD  What's the address to send the letter? Or do I need a form ?

  Does anyone have any way to contact these people?  There is not even an e mail listed on the site  ( which is back up today after  several weeks down )  Really very poor service and I would not join this program again.

The procedure and the address is in the first post here.

I did it and it took 5 days to get the letter sent to my Perak address.

OK site  is  back up after several weeks., But still not answering e mails or queries

 Anyone know what this means ?

hi,

You send them a letter as outlined in the procedures on the first post on this thread.

They will reply to you with a letter authorising the bank to terminate the FD and release the interest, and then you can reinstate the appropriate FD.

Instead of a letter I was told that an email, with scans of documents, is Ok. However as email response at the Ministry of Tourism is iffy at best it's much more reliable to go by post.
