Hi Scott
I am new here and have been reading the forum (still lots to read though).  I really enjoy coming here (only discovered it very recently). I'm amazed by it and especially you, you are such a help with everything. Thank you so much.  Not sure if this is the place if I should ask you.  We plan to apply for MM2H in KK through an agent.  Can you suggest a good agent? Appreciate it & Thanks :) concy

hi, concy,

Welcome to the site. Many thanks for the nice comments. There's quite a few of us working to keep the site informative and friendly.

A while back I agreed with the members that as Admin I should not recommend any agents, so I wish to stick to that.

There's an agents topic at :  http://www.my2home.info/index.php/board,26.0.html

Those agents that are prepared to meet the site's requirements can list their services. One of these requirements is to have fees & charges clearly displayed. Two agent companies have listed.

No-one from KK has listed. Last time I checked there were only 4 agents anyway. I emailed all of them to ask about the MM2H visa stamp in the passport and some other things. Only 1 replied with just the usual stuff about a wonderful service, contact them etc. etc. I can't remember the details except there wasn't much of any answer to my questions. I think that you need to contact all of them and see what response you get, and what fees they're charging. At that time Sabah Tourism didn't give out any information they just said to contact an agent. It may have changed.

This site has a Sabah & Sarawak topic : http://www.my2home.info/index.php/topic,71.15.html

Maybe you've already found it. If so you see that quite a few of my posts moan about things being difficult to find out from a distance. And the reluctance of folks to give answers - either on the Sabah MM2H site, or on other forums. Let's hope it's gotten better.

I'll move our posts to a new topic on Application Requirements/Procedure under the topic title Sabah : Kota Kinabalu.

Hi Scott

Thanks for your welcome and I really appreciate your reply so fast.  I am not great with pc (late learner) so forgive me if I say anything that is not supposed to say in a public forum.

Yes, I followed your instruction and went to read the agents topic.  Very interesting indeed and I like how the agents lay out the services and charges.

I also read the Sabah & Sarawak topic (slowly but not yet finished reading).

My husband and I went to KK two months ago and love the place.  So we have every intention to retire there.  Two months ago, I did write to 5 agents in KK. I found them from the list of the MM2H website but only one responded to me after 3 weeks.  Then I was referred to another which we did correspond a few times (no commitment as yet).  Then I found this forum which is such a great help to me.  I am reading it every chance I get and enjoy all the feedback from members of this forum.  You are all a bunch of informative and friendly family especially to you, Scott.  I am so happy to join in and hope in the future, I can help out with information from the Sabah side.

BTW, I have a hard time finding the download link for MM2H for Sabah.  I was told their forms are Sabah Immigration headed forms, different to KL.

I will continue reading...thanks for everything.

Concy :)

hi, concy,

I have to be honest and say that I gave up on trying to pin down anything on MM2H in Sabah, and Sarawak, after coming up against nothingness. No answers.

I reckon that you need to be there, and go around and ask, and check. I came to the conclusion that anything via email, or websites, was tentative at best. I couldn't even get an answer to "so what is stamped in the passport" when trying to find out if the mm2h visa is "for Sabah & West Malaysia" or "Sabah only" or "Sabah & Sarawak" or whatever.

I also emailed all the Sabah agents on the mm2h.gov.my website. Four at that time, I think, and only 1 reply. Willing to help but no help.

I suggest that you email the 2 agents on this site and see if they know anything about Sabah.

I feel that Sabah, and Sarawak, are both pretty autonomous states. I really dunno how much. Maybe someone on this site has a clearer view of things. What's good for West Malaysia (the Peninsula) may not be right for Sabah etc. And if Immigration KL says it's this, then Immigration KK may have a different understanding of it.

I agree that KK is great, I wouldn't mind living there myself. Building up some current information on Sabah & Sarawak on this site would be excellent.

BTW, last time I checked Sarawak didn't allow the use of agents. And the terms & conditions were easier. It may have changed. I know that you're interested in Sabah but Kuching is equally great, and only Brunei in between. Worth considering all options.

Hi Scott

Great to hear from you again.  We have been to KL/Penang/Kuching and now our option is just KK...[wink]...I know you will laugh at me.

Between the two agents I have in hand, I think I know which one to go for.  I hope my decision is the right one.

Thanks for everything. A big thank you to everybody who contributed all the infos here.  I am enjoying reading them.....still reading......

Regards, concy   :)
