Well, ain't this lucky. I have a friend who is just putting his attap shack on the market. It's RM500,0001 and I'm sure you'll love it. And he'll throw in a new Toshiba and a lifetime's internet connection.   :P

Crikey, Scott, is the attap palm leaves with which the roof is tatched gold plated??  :o  :o

Half a mil for the hut??!! Hope it comes with a bit of land close to the waterfront with half a dozen coconut trees thrown in. A chook or two running around would be nice too or is that too much to ask.  ;)

I like the idea of a kampung chook - usually skinny and black, running around digging the rubbish.

Well, I guess I better head to Teluk Bahang and do some research.  ;)

I am almost there, Scott's friend has this attap hut for sale at a huge price. I need to do some fierce bargaining here especially if the attap hut didn't come with a block of land.  :(

Victor has promised to throw in the skinny black kampung chooks. All I need to find are the coconut trees and dig a well.  O0

Shall have to convene an Irish Coffee/Guinness evening eventually & include everyone. The only strict qualification will be a capacity to down minimum 6 Irish coffees quickly chased down by 6 pints of Guinness !

::) That's what we have in Dublin before we go out for a drink, James!  :D

LOL, Cupert. YOu have got it all figure out. Only thing missing - "Ah Sam" (servant) to do your cooking, sweeping and washing.  :)

Have a great time in Penang. Don't forget to report back to all of us of you findings!

hi,

As part of a bit of general housekeeping let's keep the "what to do in the evening" chatter on Chit Chat, so here's a new topic. It may cause a bit of a hiccup in continuity as it's always a bit jumpy but it keeps other topics a bit more on topic.  ^-^

Scott, is it ok to do a big whinge in this thread too?  ???

Ok, I will kick it off anyway. Here I am in beautiful Penang and there are all these famous hawkers food stalls but damn it! I can't squeeze more than one dish into the stomach.  >:(

How sad is that!!!!  :(  >:(  :'(

Dear Papaya

That is certainly, something to consider. btw, we found our favourite Hainan chicken rice restaurant in Campbell street but..............there is always a but isn't there...........we were shocked by the portion served. Admittedly, it costs only RM5 per portion but we would prefer having to pay more for a bigger portion of the dish. Mr C used to love their curry chicken but they don't prepare that any more.

Mr C reckons it is because the younger generation is only interested in the bottom line and no longer believe in quality service or meal. Do you think that way too?
