I must admit the fashion here in the UK for girls to show their bellies is a bit gross. At least I have the decency to keep mine under cover.

I came across a photo of me sat by a pool in Hong Kong. I couldn't believe I was that slim! Mind you in those days I used to play on the wing for the British Military Hospital Rugby team and a civvie team Valley Knights. Valley Knights, never won a match but we could out drink anyone  O0

If I eat lots of local food will I get slim quicker  :D

PLEASE  - I beg you - don't set "knuckle sandwich" on poor Edmund.

Nobody deserves that !!!!!

Ok, Victor, I will tell Edmund that I am a friend of yours as I love a good bargain. I will also tell him, that if he doesn't give me a good deal, I will send my friend, Papaya who will give him "a knuckle sandwich".  ;D

Local food is extremely fattening, unfortunately. It is very delicious, but is high in cholesterol, transfats and sodium, for those who are concerned about heart health. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in Malaysia, among males and females between the ages of 15 and 64 and this fact is attributed to the diet. Much local food also contains a  great deal of MSG which can cause many problems other than hypertension. I love the local food, but I have to eat it sensibly. As with everything in life take it with moderation.

And, here I thought that my high cholesterol level is due to the high consumption of local Aussie food.  :o

Oh well! You got to die sometime, so might as well do it in style - eat more local food!  :P

James, my boy, you just got to toughen up a bit, just like Papaya. Perhaps she can show us how to do the LOOK! I can't quite perfect it, must be in the genes.  :)

OldMan, eat lots of local food and drink gallons of black or jasmine tea. That should do the trick.  ;)

Guinness good for you - official

A pint of the black stuff a day may work as well as a low dose aspirin to prevent heart clots that raise the risk of heart attacks.

Guinness only contains 198 kcal (838 kilojoules) per imperial pint (1460 kJ/l), fewer than skimmed milk or ...

Wow! OldMan, you may be on the right track based on the above studies.   ^-^

I don't know, Cupert. But, the heat in Penang really makes me not want to eat that much. I guess probably with old age as well! Tummy seems to shrink. But a bit here and there, all the greasy animal fat with hot cup of black tea (or guiness like Old Man) will do the trick.
