Hi Scott et al,

Just thought I would let you know that our application has been approved under the FD system. Why they could not have told us to apply this way in the first instance I don't know. Anyway warning to anybody else who may be thinking of applying under the income route - DON'T it is a waste of time.

I can now order my car!!

Cheers

Brian

Hi Brian,

Congratulations! Its nice to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am awaiting the result of an appeal so should hear in a couple of days.

Let me know how you get on with your car. I think one of the posters on this site said that Hondas were taking 4 months because they were built to order and that Toyotas would take a shorter time. This info may be a bit dated.

Could you post any prices and turn round times you are quoted?

hi, Brian,

Congratulations, that's good news.

With the current fall-off in applications let's hope the Immigration Approving Committee is speeding-up the appeals.

regards, Scott

Hi,

The appeal took about 3 to 4 weeks so not too bad.

I was intending buying a Toyota Fortuna but having had a couple of test drives I am not so sure -a bit of a big beast. I may go for the Honda Accord . A pal of mine has the 3 litre and he is very happy with it. Will post prices as I get them.

Cheers

Brian

Hi Scott et al,

Just viewed to motour website and it's showing that I have now been approved.
Its a shame that I wasnt informed by my agent who doesnt seem very switched on but it does show that the motour site works and is updated.

Only a few more hurdles to jump and we will be eating Penang Laksa at a hawker stall in Penang!!

Regards

Bob

hi, Qjumper,

That's great news. When are you planning on coming over?

Good news about the Motour site as well. If anyone from MoTour is checking this site, I think that they need to hear that something works.

regards, Scott

Hi Scott,

We will be coming over to KL in two or three months time. Before that I will be checking all the threads for the exact procedure. Unfortunately we have a house to sell which is difficult in the current climate, either loose lots of money or wait for ages.

I sent my agent an email to say that we had been approved and he came back to say that the agents are usually the first to know. Maybe the site is now getting ahead of them.

I would definitely recommend that anyone waiting for approval checks it out regularly. Not only to see if they have been accepted but also to make sure that the application has been lodged.

I hope to see the boat sometime.
